I love this woman!

Image
www.pioneerwoman.com There is something so real and simplistic about her but yet not so simple. Admittedly, she claims that she is “a lifelong underachiever”. I think…so am I. But not in a sad, depressing, mopey, gloomy kind of way. More of a perfectly content and happy way. Oh, yeah there are plenty o’ things I can come up with that I would like to change about myself. But let’s face it, those things, if listed, would merely amount to a bunch of little insignificant pet peeve like traits that really would have no concrete effect on the world as a whole, and they may just depress me. I mean, I am not out to solve world hunger here. Just create a happy life and home. I procrastinate…but it gets done. And when it does, the end product really is not too shabby. In college, I always waited until the very last minute to start and complete a HUGE project. I always pulled it out and almost always received high marks (that finance teacher just didn’t understand my way of thinking…she...

I Miss my camera!

It used to be that I would NEVER use a digital camera. There was no way I was going to get on that band wagon, I would remain true to my roots and the traditional was my camera of choice. Then I had my first baby. My “push” gift as it has become lovingly known as was a little elf…digital camera. I thought, ok this is good for the hospital but that is probably as far as it will go. Sad to say, I am addicted. I mean the instant gratification alone is amazing! Point, shoot, and view! Just like that! Then you download them to your site of choice for printing. You can have them delivered to your home or pick them up. You can play and futz to create something of a work of art. Something that ultimately is not at all what you were looking at…at all! Don’t get me wrong. I do so love my little elf. But prior to this convenient way of capturing my world, I had a most beautiful Cannon that I had several different choices of lenses to play with. All I had to do was twist, remove, and ad...

Friend or Foe?

Image
So if somebody requests that you be their friend and you accept, THEN said “friend” deletes you…what does that mean? Are you no longer friends in real time as well or is it just a matter of web convenience? Didn’t communicate that much online and want to clean up your database of friends? I mean, seriously?! What’s up with that? Really, I shouldn’t care. And well, even though I have said that I don’t care…I must in some sadistic way to be blogging about it, right? So it all begs the question… “Has the term “friend” become a fly by night term or does it really mean something to you?” I need to ponder that for a moment. I have friends. They accept me for who I am (isn’t that why they are friends?). If I personally seek out an old lost friend, request that we be friends again (even if only for blogging or facebook purposes) and begin to chat on a relatively regular basis again, I certainly would not all of a sudden and without any notice or explanation choose to up and delete them....

Time to dream bigger

So a friend says to me one day recently, “Jen, I enjoy your blog but why do you never include anything about yourself?” “I love the pics of your kids and keeping abreast of their milestones, but what about your own?” I reply, “Well, I have been blogging for just over two years now, and it was my intention to blog my experience of pregnancy and childbirth and being a mother?” He replies, “but now that the first two are done and you are living the life of mom, don’t you think you have more to say? What about YOU?” Good point! While I cannot say that I am religious about posting everyday (I am trying to be better about it this year), I guess I do have more to say from time to time. I just never felt that any rant (or rave for that matter) that I may have, belonged on a page of cute kid stuff. So herein lies the question at hand, do I start another blog or add onto my current one? Conclusion: Start another blog in addition to my cute kid stuff. I decided it best to separate the tw...
